With the growing number of craft breweries that have opened up in Ballard recently, Thrillist has created a Ballard Craft Beer Crawl that you and your friends can follow. Where else in the Seattle are you able to try 8 different breweries all of which are within walking distance from each other?

Here is the order of breweries that Thrillist suggests you follow.

  3. Hilliard’s Beer
  4. Reuben’s Brews
  5. Urban Family Public House
  6. NW Peaks Brewery
  7. Populuxe Brewing

Bastille Day and Seafoodfest… Busy Weekend in Ballard!

Not only will Ballard be bustling with seafood crazed locals this weekend, it will also host patrons celebrating the French National Independence Day, Bastille Day! Where do you think will be the happening venue in town to host such festivities? Bastille of course, will have a variety of specials, including $5 wine and cocktails, oysters and baguette sandwiches, as well as entertainment on their outdoor patio, beginning at 2pm.

Bastille will also host a pétanque tournament, a traditional french game similar to croquet, $5 per person, bragging rights free of charge. Bastille is just blocks away from where the Annual SeafoodFest will be serving up all kinds of Northwest seafood fare, general rules state that every vendor must serve at least one seafood item on their menu. Vendors and stages will line up along 22nd Ave NW, come on down and hangout with the neighbors this weekend!

Seafoodfest Is Here This Weekend!

The much anticipated Ballard Seafoodfest is finally here this weekend, and Ballardites are getting things started with a neighborhood BBQ kickoff this Friday, to benefit the Seattle Fishermen’s Memorial at the Ballard Elks. The BBQ will have live music from a local band playing Johnny Cash, food from Smokin Pete’s BBQ, and of course, beer from local favorite Maritime Pacific Brewery. 

Saturday events begin from 11am-9pm, and Sunday festivities run from 11am-7pm, and feature beer gardens, a lukefish eating contest, hearty salmon BBQ, and even doggie stations from local businesses to host your furry friends for a dip in a kiddie pool, and free treats. There will also be live entertainment at several stages throughout the day, with performances by local and visiting accordion musicians on the main stage, and storytelling and juggling on the kids stage.
