Volunteers will be working the information booth at the event, selling raffle tickets, manning the donation booth, and setting up and tearing down the event. If you’re interested in volunteering for Seafoodfest, please contact Karen, SeafoodFest Volunteer Coordinator at or at 206-291-5500.

Seafoodfest Is Here This Weekend!

The much anticipated Ballard Seafoodfest is finally here this weekend, and Ballardites are getting things started with a neighborhood BBQ kickoff this Friday, to benefit the Seattle Fishermen’s Memorial at the Ballard Elks. The BBQ will have live music from a local band playing Johnny Cash, food from Smokin Pete’s BBQ, and of course, beer from local favorite Maritime Pacific Brewery

Saturday events begin from 11am-9pm, and Sunday festivities run from 11am-7pm, and feature beer gardens, a lukefish eating contest, hearty salmon BBQ, and even doggie stations from local businesses to host your furry friends for a dip in a kiddie pool, and free treats. There will also be live entertainment at several stages throughout the day, with performances by local and visiting accordion musicians on the main stage, and storytelling and juggling on the kids stage. Come on down to Ballard this weekend, and checkout the Seafood weekend festivities!

Ballard SeafoodFest Needs Help With Funding!

Seattleites come from near and far every year to attend the annual Ballard SeafoodFest, and this year for the first time ever they’re asking for help to fund this year’s event. They’ve already launched a campaign on, a website that allows individuals and groups to fundraiser for creative projects and events, that will only allow the group to receive the funding if they meet their goal in an allotted amount of time! So far they’ve raised $350 of the $5,000 they hope to gain in the next two weeks.

This year will mark the 38th annual SeafoodFest, which originally began as a 1 day salmon BBQ cookout to raise money for the Ballard Chamber of Commerce. Over the years the event has grown massively by popular demand, and has remained free admission, with the exception for donation. This year they’re planning ahead and fundraising prior to the event, to steer from asking for donations while on stage, etc. Visit the Ballard SeafoodFest website today for more information.
